[9/7 Weekend] All Bets are Off: Game of the Year Edition[edit]
GMs: Dominic Perno, Thomas Costa, Diana Shklover
Welcome to the Casino de la Isla, a famous private casino on a private island just off the shore of Spain. It’s a place where the wealthy, influential, and “slightly” dubious come for a night of revelry and indulgence. However, this night is shaping up to be more interesting than most. There’s whispers of crimes and crime lords, of secrets and schemes, and even of the legendary agent 007. But at the center of it all, lies a peculiar prize, a single, luxuriously ornate egg. When all these people and all these plots come crashing together, who will hit the jackpot, and who will end up going down in flames?
Either way, tonight, All Bets are Off™.
All Bets are Off: Game of the Year Edition is a light-hearted Live Action Roleplaying (LARP) game written by Dominic Perno, Thomas Costa and Diana Shklover, running the weekend of September 7th, under the auspices of the MIT Assassins’ Guild.
[9/21 Weekend] Secrets of the Necronomicon[edit]
GMs: Steve Balzac, Aimee Yermish, Jeff Bigler, Robert Ringrose, Ariel Segall, Jesse Ashcraft-Johnson
Not far from the venerable Massachusetts town of Arkham sits Miskatonic University. Its ancient ivy-covered buildings nestled amongst carefully sculpted primæval greenery and mysterious, hoary trees, Miskatonic is renowned as a first-rate liberal arts college. Althought Miskatonic is noted for its departments of archæology, history, and folklore, the quality of the school’s mathematics and sciences should not be ignored. And, of course, Miskatonic is famous for its student pranks and for its persistent rumours of sorcery and black magic. The latter, especially, have always formed an exciting backdrop to the normal life of the university. Now, on the University’s bicentennial, with the annual Alumni Weekend approaching, old stories are being dredged up, and new ones are being whispered in the darkness, for... Something Strange Is Going On! Is it true that someone broke into the University Library? What about the rumours that the dread Necronomicon mysteriously vanished from the Rare Books collection? And what is the FBI doing on campus? Could they be investigating the mysterious disappearances that have plagued Miskatonic of late? What about the rise in cult activity? Campus religions have suddenly become very active, especially some of the more outré organizations. Could this be connected with the returning geological and archæological expeditions? Just what did they discover in the Antarctic, anyway? Are the rumours of insanity amongst the members of the expedition greatly exaggerated, or did something sinister happen deep in that frozen waste? And is it true that the parents of a Miskatonic student really need to sacrifice in order to send their kid to college?
Secrets of the Necronomicon is a mysterious three-day Live Action Role Playing game run by Steve Balzac, Aimee Yermish, Jeff Bigler, Robert Ringrose, Ariel Segall, and jesseaj, running between September 20-22. Apply by Monday, September 9th to play!
[10/5 Weekend] [subtext][edit]
GM: Matt Ender
[subtext] is about what we do and don’t say. The characters are in a high context culture, where difficult or stressful topics are communicated only as subtext. Each is played by two players: one speaking openly, and one saying the things that are conveyed by implication, tone, and body language.
[10/19 Weekend] Endure and Survive[edit]
GMs: Bianca Hanly, Ambre Rose
You are in the Boston Quarantine Zone, one of the few remaining pockets of civilization that has not been overtaken by the cordyceps-zombie infection. You've managed to survive apocalypse for the last 20 years, can you endure 1 more day?
Endure and Survive is a 4-hour game based on The Last of Us, written by Izzy Rose, Skyler Crossman, and Bianca Hanly under the auspices of the MIT Assassins’ Guild.
The main experience this game wishes to offer is the anxiety of the ever-present threat of losing the only person who makes life worth living, and the pain of losing them being drawn over the final few minutes you'll have together as you watch them lose control of their body and mind.
This is not a game where you go out and fight zombies. Zombies, or Infected, are rather quite rare, and rather quite better at biting you than you are at killing them. You are the ones being hunted. This is a game where you struggle to survive, and encounters with the outside of the Quarantine Zone are unwelcome, but rather quite necessary.
This game is for players who want to form strong emotional attachments to fictional characters and are ready to be emotionally tortured for it.
[10/26 Weekend] Omnipresence Among Mortals[edit]
GM: Kim Eppling
It’s been two years since the Raiden Shogun, God of Eternity and ruler of Inazuma, decreed a fate worse than death to those whose only crime was to dream. Two years of a brutal civil war that’s left half the nation uninhabitable. Last week, the Raiden Shogun executed the heads of two of the government’s three wings for high treason. Today, the Resistance leaders have arrived at Inazuma City for peace negotiations. If only working towards a brighter future were your true goal today — or anyone else’s.
[11/2 Weekend] Monster Mash[edit]
GM: Wren Berlanga

And taking classes with a Giant and a Fairy that are taught by a sentient 7-foot cube of slime, makes unique challenges a constant in your life. Monster Mash is a 5 hour one-night of light-hearted romance, goofy shenanigans, and dancing set in a world of spooky and silly characters.
[11/9 Weekend] Sunset Imperium[edit]
GMs: Thomas Brewitt, Thomas Costa
The Lazax Empire has ruled the galaxy for millenia, enforcing a tenuous peace between the Great Races that has brought with it untold prosperity. Its fall would seem impossible, if not for Quann. The conflict at Quann seventy three years ago ushered in a new age, an age of nationalism, militarization, and war that now threatens to shatter the carefully cultivated Lazax hegemony, and with it, galactic civilization itself. Only now has the lumbering bureaucracy of the Lazax finally called for a meeting of the Imperial Council to address the Quann Conflict, but at this point, all of the other Great Races have moved well beyond Quann, and are interested only in ensuring their domination in the wake of imperial collapse. Meanwhile, as the politicians squabble over the decaying Empire, other forces are at work in the shadows, with agendas that pose even more of a danger than anyone could imagine.
Sunset Imperium is a four hour game set in Fantasy Flight’s Twilight Imperium universe during the fall of the Lazax Empire focusing on negotiation, politics, and treaty writing, with a healthy dose of puzzles and notebooks for those less interested in debating galactic law. Of course, should negotiation fail, there is also a fully-fledged system for waging war against your rivals, or to simply do a bit of saber-rattling. If you’ve always wanted to represent an interstellar empire vying for galactic domination, engage in war profiteering, invent a weapon of mass destruction, or have the opportunity to fight a six-front war (not recommended), Sunset Imperium is the game for you!
