The schedule of games being run in Spring 2020 under the auspices of the MIT Assassins' Guild is as follows.

Make sure that you are on the Assassins' Guild Mailing List to receive the application forms for these games.

Patrol

First and Third Saturday of the month, 8-11:00pm, 36-115

Travel to strange new classrooms. Meet interesting, unusual people, and kill them! Patrol is a high-action game of live combat with rubber-dart guns. Shoot your friends, then watch out as they try to take their revenge.

[2/22 Weekend] A Retreat to Remember

GMs: Laura Boylan

You have arrived at a small, remote island with a group of fellow campers for a weekend of… what? Something strange and inexplicable has happened and your personal memories have vanished!

This is a game of amnesia. You will try to figure out who you are, where you are, your relationships with your fellow amnesiacs, and what’s really going on as bits and pieces of your memories slowly return. The game is set in the modern day and the characters are every-day normal people. Mostly.

All characters are all written as gender-neutral. Potentially sensitive discussion topics may include death and drug use.

[3/7 Weekend] Til Human Voices

GMs: Spencer and Kimberly Lane

Scientists aboard the DSV Ammonite have been exploring the waters of the South Pacific for several weeks and their mission is due to finish in a few hours. Desperate to find something of note, the crew has steered for an unmapped portion of the seafloor to explore. Isolated from the surface and with limited communication while operating outside the sub, the crew of the Ammonite is truly alone... or are they?

Til Human Voices is a 2 Hour game of eldritch horror and deep sea exploration. It is intended as a mechanics test for a longer game in the future, though it will also have plot and characters. We are intending to run this game several times throughout the weekend. We will need some NPCs. NPCing one run will not bar you from playing in another.

[4/4 Weekend] Spring Guild Meeting

GMs: The High Council

THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY DUE TO MIT'S COVID-19 RESPONSE

Politics and backstabbing *without* character sheets!

Free food! Officer Reports. Free Food! Elections. Free Food! Standing Policy debates. Did I mention Free Food?! Masterings.

(More seriously, the Spring Guild meeting is when elections happen. Current students, if you do not attend, we cannot elect anyone to Grandmaster or Secretary of the Exchequer, and then the Guild will stop running.)

[4/11 Weekend] Murder on the Starlight Express

GMs: Ken Clary, Jayson Lynch, Jay Muchnij

THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO MIT'S COVID-19 RESPONSE

Welcome to "Murder on the Starlight Express", a six hour, experimental [for its time] murder mystery assassin game. You can be one of ten crewmen trapped onboard the Freighter Gabriel, on course from Ceti Alpha 6 to Epsilon Eridani 4, with a murderer (or two) trapped on board. It's the classic whodonit, but in assassin style, where the criminals can shoot back, and maybe even shoot first.

[4/25 Weekend] Society for Interactive Komedy

GMs: Spencer and Kimberly Lane

THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO MIT'S COVID-19 RESPONSE

Shoot your friends, shoot your enemies in this day of short, zany SIK games. Come for the Sea Lab and stay for the Tsunambees! We can’t promise you tightly balanced scenarios. We can promise you lots of ammo and interesting mechanics. Games will be roughly 30 minutes long and be designed to run with a variable number of players.

Sea Lab 2021

“If you’re looking for me// You better check under the sea/// Cause that is where you'll find me// Underneath the// Sealab, Underneath the water// Sealab, At the bottom of the sea”

In the far off future of 2021, the world’s best and brightest scientists work in a massive undersea laboratory called Sea Lab. Due to a crack forming in the space time continuum, dopplegangers of the Sea Lab crew have mysteriously appeared. Who knows what other dangers lurk under the sea?

This game uses mechanics that are designed to simulate scuba diving.

Battle School

The Enemy’s gate is down. As the finest child soldiers planet Earth has to offer, you were sent to Battle School. There you have formed armies which compete in simulated zero gravity combat to see who is the best. Do you have what it takes to defend the Earth?

Players will be assigned to teams and will play a game designed to mimic the Battle School game from Ender’s Game.

Two Headed Giant

It is an age of myth and legend, and giants walk the Earth. These titanic creatures are unique in that they have two entirely separate nervous systems that are fused together into one body. What will happen when these massive, uncoordinated beasts clash in combat?

Players pair up in this game with each player only able to use one of their hands.

Sharknado vs. Lavalantula vs. Tsunambees

The world survived the tornados filled with sharks. It survived the primordial fire-spitting giant tarantulas. It even survived the swarm of bees that created zombies. But will humanity be able to survive when these three disasters happen *at the same time*?

Players take on the role of either a disaster movie monster or a human with a chainsaw in this survival “horror” game.

[5/9 Weekend] Sleep/Wake

GMs: twohlers, Laura "laura47" Boylan

THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO MIT'S COVID-19 RESPONSE

Every eight months, you wake, and you serve as crew for the colony ship for four months. Then you go back to sleep in the cryo pods for another eight months. Sleep, wake, sleep. If you have a friend, a sibling, a lover who ends up on another shift from you -- you get to see them for one week out of every eighteen. But when you do -- you party. That's what you're doing today. For some of you, it's goodnight. For others, it's good morning. For all of you, it's a rare chance to see people you care about, meet new people, and resolve relationship drama, and pehaps to talk about your dreams.

Sleep/Wake is a 4 hour low-transparency, no/low-combat game focusing on relationship dynamics and drama.
